Repsol and Warner Music Spain Drive Decarbonisation through Renewable Energy in Live Music Events
Repsol and Warner Music Spain have advanced their strategic alliance by implementing renewable energy solutions to support live music performances and festivals across Spain. This initiative highlights a significant shift towards sustainable practices in the entertainment sector emphasizing the transformative power of clean energy in reducing carbon footprints.
At the core of this collaboration is the deployment of 100 percent renewable energy sources to power more than 90 concerts scheduled for 2026 covering over 47000 kilometres and utilising fuels of entirely renewable origin from Repsol. This not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions but also demonstrates the feasibility of integrating renewable energy into high-profile entertainment logistics.
Further extending the impact the partnership includes supplying renewable energy to iconic venues such as the Nautical Club of San Vicente which will feature solar-powered stages and host exclusive performances. These initiatives exemplify how renewable energy can be integrated into event infrastructure enhancing sustainability while maintaining high entertainment standards.
Repsols commitment is reinforced by innovative projects such as mobile solar-powered recording studios and consultancy services for festivals aimed at implementing efficient renewable energy solutions. These initiatives align with broader industry efforts to measure and minimise the environmental impact including plans to develop the first CO2 footprint analysis for live music in Spain.
Since signing a multi-energy agreement in January 2025 Repsol and Warner Music have facilitated renewable electricity supply to major venues in Madrid and supported artist tours utilizing renewable fuels such as Dani Fernandez who used renewable fuels for an extensive tour including a documentary on his experience. This model exemplifies how renewable energy can be seamlessly integrated into artistic pursuits while making a tangible environmental difference.
In addition Repsol has been actively extending renewable energy solutions to festivals and cultural events enabling them to lower emissions while enhancing audience experience through clean energy technologies. Over the past three years the company has collaborated with prominent events like Bilbao BBK Live FIB and San Sebastian Film Festival reinforcing its commitment to sustainable entertainment.
This approach underscores the importance of innovative energy strategies in the entertainment industry demonstrating that renewable fuels solar power and efficient infrastructure can transform events into models of environmental responsibility. These efforts are part of a broader vision to align entertainment with global decarbonisation goals ensuring that cultural and artistic activities contribute positively to climate action efforts.
