AEE Reinforces European Windpower Leadership through Management Committee Reappointment
The Spanish Wind Energy Association has renewed its two-year mandate on the Management Committee of WindEurope the prominent European wind sector organisation. This renewal signifies Spains continued central role in European wind energy decision-making processes and its position as a pioneering country in global wind development. It also reinforces its status as a key industrial hub in Europe.
During its new term AEE highlighted its focus on three strategic priorities. Firstly strengthening unity and industrial competitiveness across the European wind sector is essential to counteract increasing global competition. Secondly accelerating electrification involves streamlining permitting procedures enhancing grid capacity and developing superior infrastructure to maximise wind energy deployment. Thirdly establishing closer relationships with local communities and society at large aims to convert social acceptance into concrete partnerships supporting the energy transition.
Juan Virgilio Marquez the Director-General of AEE emphasised the associations commitment to adding value within WindEurope management. He highlighted that representing the entire wind value chain allows AEE to contribute actively to European leadership. Marquez underlined that Europes energy priorities such as boosting renewable energy safeguarding industrial growth and ensuring fair competition require concerted efforts.
He stressed that wind energy is a cornerstone of European competitiveness strategic resilience technological innovation and territorial cohesion. The associations goal remains to support Europe in becoming more autonomous secure and sustainable by fostering a robust wind industry rooted in territorial development. This approach also aims to maintain the continents technological edge securing leadership in global renewable energy markets amid geopolitical uncertainties.
